![]() CCS Technology specialise in the design and manufacture of control systems where the high performance and accuracy of AC servo systems is required. These take several forms: The most common industrial control system is based around a PLC based controller. Usually of modular construction with dedicated modules for specific tasks, tailored PLC systems can be assembled to carry out complex and varied tasks. A trend of late is for the PLC system manufacturers to integrate motion control modules into PLC racks, providing control of servo systems from within the PLC Ladder diagram programming language. These offer good effective axis positioning solutions provided complex motion profiles and interpolation is not required. CNC Control systems are invariably used on machine tools where accurate positioning of machine slides and spindles is required. In addition, part programs for controlling the machine's functions for specific machining tasks can be generated by operators/setters using an ISO standard programming language. Motion control systems are used where high performance positioning or movement of equipment by AC servo systems is required for robotics, machinery and equipment. Motion controllers offer complex motion profiles and interpolation for multiple servo axes. There are many types of motion controllers available in the market place, each with particular strengths over the competition. The correct choice of motion controller and servo system for a particular application makes the difference between a successful control system design and a huge waste of time and resources. Intelligent servo drives can deliver simple speed, position and registration control tasks. These units can be interfaced to PLC systems via fieldbus interfaces, digital I/O or by other means or they can operate as stand alone units. In this form, they can provide replacement of mechanical gearboxes and cam arrangements to simplify machines and reduce maintenance and downtime. |
